Pet behavior online

How Does It Work?

Just as we do in our in-person training, we can troubleshoot, teach you handling techniques, and answer questions through a live video call! Simply select whether you prefer to use Skype or FaceTime and one of our trainers will video call you on the scheduled date/time.

Booking

We are currently only accepting pet dog clients on a per-case basis. Please don’t hesitate to contact us, if we aren’t available we will help you find a qualified trainer near you.

FAQ

What do I need to prepare for a lesson?

We recommend that you write down all your questions prior to the session start, and set up your device so the trainer can get a good view of the room and what your dog is doing. Ensure that you have your dog’s favorite treats or toys available, as well as any other tools you normally use for training.

If you’re having a particular issue with your dog, it’s best to record a video of the specific behavior before your session, that you can send to the trainer when they confirm your booking.

What are online lessons typically like?

Our online clients have varying goals (from learning basic techniques to solving more serious behavioral problems or troubleshooting routines for competition), but most sessions are very similar to in-person training. The trainer will observe your dog and ask you to demonstrate or explain what your goals are/any issues you’ve been having. They will then talk you through the steps and techniques, as well as demonstrate with one of their dogs! You will also receive a recording of your video so that you can review the session and training recommendations as often as necessary.

Some clients prefer to use the sessions as a live Q&A, where they use the time just to ask as many questions as possible.

What equipment do I need for the video call?

Any device with a camera and microphone that support either Zoom, Skype or FaceTime. The better your internet connection, the more you will get out of your session.

What if I want to show you something my dog does outside?

As long and you have reliable network and can receive video calls outside, you’re welcome to do so! However, to get the most from your time and avoid connectivity issues, we recommend that you record a video of any particular behaviors you’d like to discuss and send those to the trainer before the start of your session.

Do you work with international students?

Yes, as long as you are able to log in at one of the available times and have some basic English comprehension, we are happy to work through language barriers. We can also conduct sessions at a non-technical level in Portuguese or Spanish. Please indicate this when booking under “Appointment Notes.”

Cancellation Policy:

Please notify us by phone or email if you wish to cancel or modify an online training session at least 24 hours prior to session start for a full refund or to apply your payment to another lesson. Cancellations, no-shows or changes made within 24 hours of the scheduled session will count as a forfeited session, and will not be eligible for a refund.
